Activation of the Medicine Wheel

The circle of life is reflected throughout Nature; the Moon, the Sun and Mother

earth.
There have been “circles” found all over the world.
Are they vortexes where healing energy can be given and received?
Are they maps to the heavens through representation of the Moon and Sun?
Are they nothing more than huge calendars?
The Native Nations of North America created many wheels that are still present today.
It is said that if you follow the Sacred Hoop and consider the lessons you learn there, it will change you.
It is the Medicine Wheel that connects us to ourselves and the rest of the Universe.

There was a time, before the plains Indians had horses to hunt.. the young men would walk for day in search of food.
One summer two young men were out hunting when in the distance they saw a young and very beautiful woman in white doe skins.
‘Behold,’ said the woman to the good brave. ‘I am coming to your people with a message from Tatanka Oyate, the buffalo nation.
Return to your Chief and tell him what you have seen.
Tell him to prepare a tipi large enough for all his people, and to get to be prepared for my arrival.

In the beginning, there was the dark purple light at the dawn of being.  Spider Woman spun a line to form the east, west, north, and south.   Breath entered man at the time of the yellow light. At the time of the red light, man proudly faced his creator.   Spider Woman used the clay of the earth, red, yellow, white, and black, to create people.  To each she attached a thread of her web which came from the doorway at the top of her head. This thread was the gift of creative wisdom. Three times she sent a great flood to destroy those who had forgotten the gift of her thread.
Indian Prayer For Peace
Oh, Great Spirit who dwells in the sky, lead us to the path of peace and understanding, let all of us live together as brothers and sisters.
Our lives are so short here, walking upon Mother Earth's surface. Let our eyes be opened to all the blessings you have given us.
Please hear our prayers, Oh Great Spirit.

An Indian Prayer
O Great Spirit Who's voice I hear in the winds and whose breath gives life to the entire world, hear me! I am small and weak and I need your strength and wisdom.
Let Me Walk in Beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset.  Make My Hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice, Make Me Wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people;
Let Me Learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock I seek Strength, not to be greater then my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy—Myself Make Me Always Ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes, So When Life Fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame. Aho!
WISDOM FROM THE ANCESTORS
So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life.
Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself.
Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
Chief Tecumseh (Crouching Tiger) Shawnee Nation 1768-1813
"When the Earth is sick, the animals will begin to disappear, when that happens, The Warriors of the Rainbow will come to save them."
Chief Joseph Lower Nez Perces band of the Wallowa Valley 1840-1904
"These (sacred) ceremonies do not belong to Indians alone, they can be done by all who have the right attitude...and who are honest and sincere about their beliefs in Wakan Tanka (Great Spirit) and follow the rules."
"Survival of the world depends on our sharing what we have, and working together. If we don't the whole world will die. First the planet, and next the people."
Ceremonial Chief Frank Fools Crow Teton Souix 1890-1989
WISDOM OF THE NIGHT
According to certain Native American folklore, the Great Spirit that lives within the Great Mystery gathered all the animals on Mother Earth and said, "I must conceal the Realization, that humans create their own reality, until they are able to comprehend it."
The Buffalo, most sacred of all animals, said, "I will bury it in the great plains."
"No, humans will dig and find it there," replied the Great Spirit.
The Whale, keeper of ancient knowledge, said, "I will carry it to the bottom of the ocean."
"No, humans will go there one day and find it," replied the Great Spirit.
The eagle, close to the heavens where the Great Spirit dwells, said, "I'll fly it to the moon."
"No, humans will soon go there too and find it," replied the Great Spirit.
The Owl, essence of true wisdom, said, ""Put it inside them."
"Yes," replied the Great Spirit. "It is the last place they will look.
